- Obesity rates have tripled in the
past three decades
- 16% (over 9 million) children
ages 6-19 are obese, an amount that has tripled since 1980
- Childhood obesity rates have more
than doubled for preschool age children (ages 2-5) and adolescents
(ages 12-19), and more than tripled in children ages 6-11
